Two hubs, two ways to take a course
Every course is taught in person twice in the training year: once at the Nairobi hub and once at the Accra hub. Cohorts run in pairs — two in Nairobi, then two in Accra — so a participant can take two courses back to back at one hub.
Nairobi
Taught in the room at the EDIS regional hub in Nairobi, on the East Africa calendar, with the laboratories run at the keyboard under supervision. US$200 a contact day.
Accra
The same course, the same assessment and the same certificate, taught at the Accra hub on the West Africa calendar later in the year. US$200 a contact day.
Institutional
A programme designed around one ministry, bank or university, delivered in the institution’s own offices, using its own data and its own live policy questions.

The courses themselves
Each course is one school of the Academy, and runs five to ten contact days depending on how many modules it teaches and how deep they are. The course catalogue gives every course in full — its modules, each module’s own summary, outcomes and outline, the day-by-day plan and the certificate. The training calendar shows all 28 cohorts, between 1 February 2027 and 14 July 2028.
A certificate names the models you can operate
Assessment is against the models themselves, not against attendance. The certification boards sit quarterly and the register is the record an institution can check.
Certification
Assessed courses lead to an EDIS Academy certificate naming the models the participant is certified to operate, at what level, and the date of assessment. Certificates are verifiable against the Academy register.
Fellowships
Longer placements for analysts from ministries, central banks and research institutes, working on a real policy question with supervision, ending in a published piece of work.
Laboratories
Each course carries temporary model access, training datasets and a sandboxed workspace. Access expires with the course; work produced in it can be exported.
Capacity is part of the deployment, not an afterthought
A platform an institution cannot operate is not an asset. Institutional and government deployments of EDIS can include training as part of the implementation, so that the institution’s own staff can run, interpret and defend the analysis once the implementation team has gone.

Train the team that has to produce the numbers
A government cohort takes one institution’s team through a course together, on that institution’s own questions: the macro-fiscal unit, the budget directorate, the public investment unit or a sector planning team, assessed and certified as a group.
Cohorts can be delivered at a regional hub or in the institution’s own offices as part of a deployment.

- Scope — the institution’s questions and the models behind them

Delivered with institutions, licensed by EDIS
Universities, regional training institutes and professional bodies can deliver EDIS Academy courses under a training partnership. The partner delivers the teaching; the platform access, the datasets, the model versions and the certification remain managed by EDIS, so a certificate means the same thing wherever it was earned.
