How a course is put together

Five to ten days, set by what the course contains

A course is one school of the Academy. Its length comes from the number of modules in it and how deep they are, not from a slot on the timetable.

Rule 01

One day a module

A course runs four days plus one contact day for each module it teaches, so a single-module course runs five days and a course of six or more modules runs the ten-day maximum.

Rule 02

Depth adds a day

Where the modules average fifty or more specified learning hours — the large sector models — the course takes one day more, up to ten.

Rule 03

Six contact hours a day

Contact time is shared between the modules in proportion to their specified hours. The full materials for every module are issued for the work around the contact days.

Rule 04

Four cohorts

Every course runs in person in Nairobi and in Accra, and live virtual on East Africa and West Africa time, spread across the year so each region has an early and a late option.

Enrolment

Take a place, or nominate a team

Individual enrolment opens eight weeks before a cohort starts. Institutions nominating a group are scheduled directly, so the course can be built around the institution’s own questions.
