What is open, and what has just been published
Open courses, new model documentation, platform releases and the ways institutions and development partners can take part.
Economic Modelling and Climate Modelling open in Nairobi, 2027
Two flagship courses of the EDIS Academy are open for registration. Both are taught in person at the Nairobi hub, over ten contact days, at US$2,000 a participant. Enrolment opens on 7 November 2026, and institutions may nominate a team at any time.
Economic Modelling — 1 to 12 February 2027
Nine modules: social accounting matrix construction, input–output and structural analysis, an introduction to CGE modelling, advanced CGE, recursive dynamic CGE, CDCGE with EDIS, microsimulation analysis linking CGE to households, spatial modelling — where do policies land, and growth diagnostics.
Climate Modelling — 22 February to 5 March 2027
Ten modules, from climate science for economic modellers and sector climate impacts through climate–economy CGE, adaptation appraisal, mitigation and carbon policy, NDC costing, climate fiscal risk, the energy transition, spatial climate risk and robust decisions under uncertainty.
Who the courses are written for
Economists, planners and climate analysts from Ministries of Finance, Ministries of Planning, climate units and Ministries of Natural Resources, and university researchers and advanced students. Enrolment opens 7 November 2026; institutions may nominate a team at any time, and the course is then built around the questions that team has to answer.
Sponsor an analyst from a developing country
Development partners, foundations and programmes can fund places for economists, planners and climate analysts from low- and middle-income countries. US$2,000 sends one analyst on a full course — tuition, all course materials, the laboratories and certification — and leaves a ministry with a modeller it did not have before.
Group and multi-country sponsorships are welcome, and can be scoped alongside a country deployment so that training and platform adoption move together.
What a sponsorship covers
- Tuition for one analyst on a full ten-day course
- Every module’s workbook, laboratory manual, datasets and code
- Supervised laboratories on the live EDIS platform
- Assessment and certification against the Academy register
